What Does Beard Cream Do?

Beard creams are formulated to provide a matte finish and styling hold. This is thanks to shea butter, which allows you to both moisturize and tame your beard. In addition to the conditioning benefits you get from the carrier oils, the butter will help soften your hair strands and soothe the skin underneath.

Often used in place of beard oil, beard cream can be a great two-in-one product for days when you need fast moisture, quick styling, and no distracting shine.

Why Use Beard Cream?

That’s the conundrum faced by a lot of beard brothers. If you’ve got a good beard oil or beard balm, why do you need a beard cream? There are men who prefer oils and those who prefer balms and creams. It just depends on your skin and hair type. You’ll still get all the benefits of a premium beard oil, like healthy skin, strong growth, and a flake-free beard, but it’ll just be a matte look – with more control.

How to Apply Beard Cream

Beard creams are applied much the same way as beard oils. After taking a shower and drying your beard, scoop out some cream with your fingers. Massage it through your beard until it’s fully absorbed. Make sure it reaches the skin as well – you want to get those good oils right in there.

Apply beard cream once or twice a day, depending on the thickness, length, and condition of your beard. Longer beards benefit most from cream because it’s quick to apply (compared to a thicker beard balm), and gives you less overall shine than a beard oil.
